Dr. Zeina Mohanna has over 15 years of experience in the humanitarian and academic fields, with a strong focus on human rights, public policy, and sustainable development. She is currently an Executive and Administrative Board Member of Amel Association International, a founding member of Ibtissama NGO, and the President of the Middle Eastern Chapter of the Stars Foundation. Her work encompasses service provision, awareness, advocacy, and policy initiatives in areas such as migration support, counter-trafficking, refugee assistance, youth leadership, and women’s empowerment.
Since 2015, Dr. Mohanna has been a lecturer at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the American University of Beirut (AUB). Her courses cover topics such as human rights and international relations, public policy analysis, civic engagement and leadership, and Lebanon’s political landscape. She earned a BA in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration from AUB, an MA in Human Rights and Democratization as a full scholarship awardee, and a PhD in Political Studies focusing on “Citizenship and Human Rights in Lebanon.” She also completed a program on Forced Migration at Oxford University as a scholarship recipient in 2015.
Dr. Mohanna has worked extensively with organizations such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), where she has contributed to policy advocacy at national and international levels.
