Dr. Kunju is a Professor of Genitourinary Pathology at the University of Michigan. She earned her medical degree from Grant Medical College, Mumbai, and completed pathology residencies at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in India and Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, where she served as Chief Resident. She specialized in Genitourinary Pathology through a fellowship at the University of Michigan and joined the faculty in 2003.
Dr. Kunju leads the clinical GU pathology service at Michigan Medicine, co-directs the Tissue Core for the Michigan Prostate SPORE program, and directs the Urologic Pathology Fellowship. Her research focuses on biomarker validation to improve the diagnosis and treatment of GU malignancies, with extensive collaboration on NIH-funded studies.
