Dr. Kamran Mirza is an Associate Professor of Pathology at the University of Michigan Director of the Division of Education within the Department of Pathology. He earned his medical degree from Aga Khan University, Karachi, and completed a Ph.D. at the University of Illinois, focusing on lung and vascular biology. He completed his pathology residency and fellowship in hematopathology and thoracic pathology at the University of Chicago.
Dr. Mirza has received numerous awards, including the 2023 ASCP Michele Raible Named Lectureship and the 2022 Michele Raible Award for Distinguished Education. He has been recognized as a Top 5 Forty Under Forty honoree by the American Society of Clinical Pathology and featured in The Pathologist’s Power List 100 for six consecutive years. He is a member of the ASCP Board of Directors and serves as an Associate Editor for the American Society of Hematology’s Image Bank.
Dr. Mirza co-founded several educational platforms, including PathElective.com, ASCP’s Virtual Pathology Grand Rounds, and the PathPod podcast. He is also an advocate for pathology, patients, and trainees through his social media channels.
