Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare leadership. He is one of the founders and the Executive Chairman of Gaza Health Initiative and the Chairman of Global Health and Relief Initiative in Jordan. Al-Hammouri is the Chairman of the board and general manager of the Specialty Hospital in Jordan. In addition, he is a consultant pediatric endocrinologist.
Since October 2023 he devoted a lot of his resources to support Gaza. And in November 2023 he founded the Gaza Health Initiative (GHI) which works as an aggregator to connect humanitarian organizations to rebuild the health sector in Gaza. In Febuary 2024, the GHI launched its first conference, titled “The First International Conference to Rebuild Health Sector in Gaza” which was Under the Patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II in Amman Jordan. And the second conference was held in June 2024, hosted by the American University of Beirut and the third GHI conference was in Sept 2024 in Amsterdam hosted by the Royal Tropical Institute. GHI now includes more than 50 humanitarian organizations from all over the globe.
The GHI established a humanitarian digital platform called: “HopeBridge”, designed to facilitate collaboration between requesters and donor organizations and service delivery entities in war-torn and catastrophe-stricken areas. Dr. Al-Hammouri is the Interim Chair of HopeBridge.
He was the Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association (PHA) for 18 years, in which he played a major role in improving the healthcare sector in Jordan, as a result, in 2023 the UNWTO declared “Jordan as a Regional Hub for Medical and Wellness Tourism”.
Dr. Al-Hammouri was ranked from the top 100 healthcare leaders for in 2024 and 2023 by Forbes Middle East. In addition, he was awarded “The Man of Achievement for the year 2023” by Palestine International Institute. And in 2020, he was awarded by the Arab Hospitals Federation “Healthcare Personality of the Year”.
