Dr. Aziza Nassar is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Mayo Clinic. A recognized leader in breast pathology, cytopathology, and gynecologic pathology, her expertise includes digital pathology, molecular cytology, and biomarker discovery.
Dr. Nassar has authored over 150 publications and book chapters, contributing extensively to oncology and pathology research. She is actively involved in national and international committees, editorial boards, and collaborative research initiatives focused on advancing pathology and medical oncology.
A dedicated educator, she established the cytopathology fellowship at Mayo Clinic Rochester and recently launched a residency program at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville. As President of the Papanicolaou Society of Cytopathology, she works with global organizations to enhance education in cytology and small biopsies.
Beyond her clinical and academic contributions, Dr. Nassar is a certified executive healthcare leader and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She has served on numerous national and institutional committees, driving innovation in healthcare leadership, education, and patient care.
