Dr. Raed Al-Naser earned his medical degree from the Jordan University of Science and Technology in Irbid, Jordan, in the summer of 1992. Driven by a deep aspiration for advanced medical training, he pursued opportunities in the United States to further his education and expertise.
He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at Saint Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Al-Naser is triple board- certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine. With a steadfast commitment to his profession, he dedicates his clinical expertise to serving patients in his community and beyond.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Al-Naser is deeply passionate about his culture and heritage, tirelessly advocating for and elevating the Arab American medical community. He joined the National Arab American Medical Association (NAAMA) in 1997 during his training years and played a pivotal role in establishing NAAMA’s San Diego chapter in 2008. Under his leadership, he served as the chapter’s President from 2020 to 2022, before taking on the role of Secretary of NAAMA's National Office. In 2025, Dr. Al-Naser was elected as the NAAMA National President.
Throughout his career, Dr. Al-Naser has been a vocal advocate for health equity within the Arab American community. He has led efforts to achieve official recognition of Arab Americans as a distinct ethnic group on the U.S. Census. His research and scholarship include two pivotal clinical studies examining the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on the Arab American community in Southern California.
Additionally, Dr. Al-Naser has contributed to various publications and media outlets, including NPR, CNN, and USA Today, sharing insights on health disparities and the broader contributions of Arab American healthcare professionals. His work exemplifies a dedication not only to medicine but also to the advancement of his community and cultural identity.
